California Assembly Bill 802 (AB 802)
Assembly Bill 802 (AB-802) established the California Building Energy Benchmarking Program. This ordinance mandates annual energy benchmarking for commercial and multifamily buildings larger than 50,000 sq ft. THE DEADLINE IS JUNE 1 EVERY YEAR.
San Jose Energy and Water Building Performance Ordinance (EW BPO)
The Energy and Water Building Performance Ordinance (EWBPO) is a policy implemented by the City of San Jose to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainability. The ordinance requires non-residential buildings over 20,000 square feet and multifamily buildings with five or more units to disclose their energy and water usage and to conduct energy and water audits at specific intervals.

Los Angeles Existing Buildings Energy and Water Efficiency Program (LA EBEWE)
The Existing Buildings Energy & Water Efficiency Program (EBEWE) in the City of Los Angeles consists of two parts: 1) Benchmarking and 2) Audits and Retro-Commissioning (A/RCx). It requires building owners to submit an annual energy and water usage report and submit an energy audit and retro-commissioning report, performed by a qualified professional, every 5 years.
ENERGY STAR Certification
ENERGY STAR certification is a voluntary program administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that recognizes buildings that meet energy efficiency standards set by the EPA.
